Abstract :
Abstract -Youth is a big component in Indonesia. As the next generation of the nation, teenagers must be able to avoid problems as the transition period progresses. These problems include the sexuality of unwanted pregnancy and abortion, being infected with Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), and drug abuse. The purpose of this study is determine the effect of counseling on the Peer-Based Free Sex Prevention and Control Program on the level of knowledge and attitudes of adolescents about the dangers of free sex. The design of this study used a pre-experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. Sampling using the Proportioned Random Sampling technique was 92 respondents. The data of this study were taken using a questionnaire and after tabulating which was in percentage terms then tested statistically using SPSS 22.0 using the Wilcoxon test.With the Wilcoxon test, a knowledge level of significancy (sig) value of 0.000 (p<0.05) and an attitude of 0.003 (p<0.05) was obtained. A p<0.05 indicates that there is meaningful difference between the score before peer-based counseling and the score after peer-based counseling. Counseling of the Peer-Based Free Sex Prevention and Control Program is effective for respondents in improving knowledge and attitudes about the dangers of free sex to reduce the impact caused.
