Abstract :
ABSTRACT The level of awareness of farmers regarding health and using personal protective equipment during activities is very low, even when after spraying they do not behave in a clean and healthy manner by keeping their hands clean. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between knowledge and hand washing behavior of farmers in Podokoyo Village, Tosari District, Pasuruan Regency. This research uses an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional research design, a research sample of 81 respondents, using the Slovin formula. This research was conducted in June 2023 using a questionnaire as an instrument. The independent variable of this research is Knowledge and the dependent variable is hand washing behavior. The data that has been collected is processed and analyzed using the chi square test. The results of this research show that the majority of respondents have good knowledge of the range of hand washing, the majority of respondents do not behave properly in washing their hands and there is no relationship between knowledge and farmer washing behavior in Podokoyo Village, Tosari District, Psuruan Regency. The Village Government should coordinate with the local Subdistrict to continue Pillar 2, namely CTPS, and collaborate with the Health Service, in this case the Community Health Center, in Preventive, Promotional efforts in the Village. As well as increasing socialization, counseling or educational activities to the community regarding good and correct hand washing, it can improve knowledge in the community and monitoring and evaluating activities related to hand washing and facilities in the village on an ongoing basis in an effort to improve and improve quality in the Village.
