Abstract :
ABSTRACT The application of ESI triage in the Emergency Room includes a classification of patient waiting time to receive treatment in the Emergency Room. The problem that often occurs is because of triage sometimes there are long waiting times for patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between emergency level based on ESI triage and patient waiting time in the emergency room at Lavalette Hospital Malang. This research uses descriptive quantitative with analytic observational methods and uses a cross sectional study approach. The sample used in this study was 120 respondents using consecutive sampling technique, which was conducted from January to February. This study was tested using the Rank Spearman correlation test. The results of the study showed that patients who came to the emergency room were patients with an emergency level based on triage ESI level 3 as many as 41.7% of patients with a fast waiting time of 38.2%. From the results of the correlation test using the Spearman Rank test, the result was p = 0.000, which means that there is a relationship between the level of emergency based on the ESI triage and the patient's waiting time in the Emergency Room at Lavalette Hospital Malang.
