Abstract :
ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF PROJECT BASED LEARNING ON STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ACHIEVEMENT OF THE FIRST YEAR STUDENTS OF MAN 1 KENDARI AHMAD PATTEN (A1D2 14 148) This study aimed at finding out whether there was a significant effect of project-based learning on students‟ speaking achievement of the first year of MAN 1 KENDARI. The design of study was pre-experimental research design that consisted of one group pre-test and post-test. Post-test was done to know students‟ ability after given treatment by using of project-based learning. The number of the participants were 32 students. The research used Paired Sample T-test to analyze the result of the study of the effect of project-based learning on students‟ speaking achievement after being analyzed the normality of the data in experiment class. The result shows that students‟ speaking ability in post-test is 2.88 higher than in pretest 1.68. The hypothesis testing is shows that the level of significance is 0.00, since the level if significant value is less than 0.05, i.e. 0.00<0.05, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and H1 is accepted. It means that the use of project-based learning shows a significant effects on students‟ speaking achievement of the first year of students of MAN 1 Kendari as seen from the result of the post-test.
