Kelapa Sawit 8 Bumi Berkat No. 1 RT. 02/01 Banjarbaru, Kalimantan Selatan e_mail : Meilinisa@yahoo.co.id ABSTRACT Water is the principal means of supporting the needs of everyday people, but if the water is polluted by one type of fungus, such as Candida sp, then the water can be a source of infection for people who use it. Based on field observations at the senior high school in Banjarbaru, visible condition of toilet most students do not meet hygiene requirements, both in terms of water storage and water used partly cloudy and looks like there are sediment on the bottom and the average pH is 6. purpose of this study was to determine the presence or absence of contamination fungus Candida albicans, as well as the physical condition of the water from water closet in senior high school in Banjarbaru. This research is descriptive survey. Population in this study were all of the water tub of water closet senior high school in Banjarbaru, total sample is 31, taken in total sampling. Data collection is done by using a questionnaire and the results of the direct examination of the specimen as much as one-time, the next specimen was analyzed based on the results of microscopic examination, cultured on the Sabouraud Dextrose. based on research results samples from the water closet senior high school in Banjarbaru, otherwise there is no contamination of Candida albicans by negative examination results, this is supported by the physical condition of the student water closets are quite clean. Recommended for the relevant agencies to get more attention and well maintained toilet environmental hygiene factor to prevent contamination of Candida albicans in the water. Keyword: albicans, candida, tub, water ABSTRAK Air merupakan sarana pokok untuk menunjang kebutuhan manusia sehari-hari, akan tetapi apabila air ini tercemari oleh salah satu jenis jamur, misalnya Candida sp, maka air tersebut dapat merupakan sumber infeksi bagi orang-orang yang menggunakannya. Berdasarkan observasi lapangan di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri Banjarbaru, terlihat kondisi toilet siswa yang sebagian besar tidak memenuhi syarat kebersihan baik dari segi penampung air maupun air yang digunakan sebagian tampak keruh dan pada dasar bak terdapat endapan-endapan, serta pH rata-ratanya adalah 6. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui ada tidaknya kontaminasi jamur Candida albicans, serta kondisi fisik pada air bak toilet di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri Banjarbaru.Penelitian ini bersifat survey deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua air bak toilet Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri Banjarbaru, sampel berjumlah 31 bak diambil secara total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan hasil pemeriksaan langsung yaitu dari pengambilan spesimen sebanyak satu kali selanjutnya spesimen dianalisa berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan mikroskopis, hasil dibiakan pada media agar Sabouraud.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, sampel air toilet Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeridi Banjarbaru dinyatakan tidak terdapat cemaran Candida albicans dengan hasil pemeriksaan negatif, hal ini didukung dengan kondisi fisik toilet siswa yang cukup bersih. Disarankan bagi instansi terkait untuk lebih diperhatikan dan dijaga dengan baik faktor kebersihan lingkungan toilet untuk mencegah kontaminasi Candida albicans dalam air.
