Abstract :
ABSTRACT Worm disease is still common in all parts of Indonesia. One of the most common diseases that occur in the population in Indonesia is caused by the Soil Transmitted Helminth group, which is a group of intestinal Nematodes in its transmission or in its life cycle through soil media. There are several factors that influence the occurrence of worm infections in Indonesia such as inadequate environmental sanitation and personal hygiene. School-aged children are a vulnerable group infected by worms because the pattern of child play is generally not detachable from the ground while it is at the time children play often forget to use footwear. The objective of this research is to know the description of infection of helminth and personal hygiene in the children of SDN 4 Cempaka Class 3, 4 and 5. This research is descriptive. The population in this study are students of SDN 4 Cempaka Class 3, 4 and 5 with the consideration that the students of grade 3, 4 and 5 can understand the given questionnaire and can answer according to the fact they experienced. The sample in this research are students of SDN 4 Cempaka class 3, 4 and 5 which are included in the requirements selected by purposive sampling. The examination of worm eggs using the direct method and personal hygienie assessment using the quioner. There were 18% (8 persons) of SDN 4 Cempaka who contracted with worm eggs, percentage of intestine nematode species by Ascaris lumbricoides (50%), Enterobius vermicularis (37.5%) and Necator americanus (12.5%), where 2 persons Men (4.5%) and 6 women (13.4%). Highest intestinal nematode contamination in the 8-9 year age group (13.4%) and good personal hygiene (11.1%). For that we need counseling about personal hygiene, especially about the use of footwear to SDN 4 Cempaka Keywords: Contamination of Worm Eggs and Personal Hygiene
