Abstract :
The North Sulawesi provincial state museum is one of the tourist destinations in Manado City, especially as a historical and cultural tourism destination. However, since its establishment in 1960, the popularity of this museum has not been a prime tourist destination, because it is not yet a major tourist destination in North Sulawesi, it also happens because there is still a lack of interest from tourists, especially domestic tourists who are still not interested in visiting the museum. This happened because most of the tourists visiting the museum are researchers to learn about the history and culture of North Sulawesi Along with the continued development of the tourism industry, the museum must become one of the leading destinations, especially for the province of North Sulawesi to boost government goals. Seeing this phenomenon, it is necessary to make a breakthrough so that the image and popularity of the North Sulawesi museum can be lifted and eventually become one of the historical and cultural tourist destinations. The author has carried out preliminary research by carrying out surveys, interviews and even the author has carried out the internship process in this institution to see the problems that exist and ultimately make a breakthrough that can attract more visitors to the intended museum. By implementing descriptive qualitative methods, a development strategy that is oriented to the world of marketing is produced by applying marketing mix strategy. This strategy analyzes each element in the marketing mix; Product, Price, Place, Promotion, to be able to produce a strategy for developing museums to get the attention of visitors who will eventually be encouraged to visit historical and cultural attractions. By implementing an effective and efficient marketing mix strategy, it is ensured that the number of visits to the North Sulawesi provincial museum will increase and the interest in cultural history tourism will also increase.
