Abstract :
YOHANA KEMONG.Hospitality and Tourism Department, Tourism Faculty, De La Salle Catholic University, Manado. Mangrove Forest Tourism Development Strategy with SWOT Analysis in Hiripau Village Mimika Regency, Papua Province. This study aims to determine the strategy of developing mangrove tourism by using SWOT Analysis in Hiripau Village Mimika Regency, Papua Province. This study uses a qualitative method, that the data presented are in the form of words by analyzing internal and external environments in developing strategies for developing tourism in the mangrove forest of Hiripau Village. The data collection technique uses observation, interviews, and document studies. For observation by analyzing vegetation and mangrove biota. Whereas for social analysis, namely to find out the opinions of the community regarding the mangrove ecotourism of Village Hiripau by using interview guidelines. The results of the suitability analysis show that the mangrove forest of Hiripau Village can be used as a tourist area, namely by developing all the potential that exists in mangrove forests if the analysis results are seen from an alternative strategy (SO). While the results of alternative strategies (WO), namely the local government of Mimika Regency can promote promotion of mangrove tourism and create an official website so that more visitors will increase. If viewed from the results of the strategy (ST) collaborate with other parties that are competent in the tourism sector to develop existing mangrove tourism in Mimika while for the strategy (WT) to develop the local handicraft industry and increase efforts to promote mangrove forest Keywords: Strategy, Tourism, Mangrove
