EFL learning used bilingual, and the students` language preference about
language use as the medium of instruction in EFL classroom interaction. The

in descriptive qualitative research by distributing a questionnaire and conducting

The findings shows that the students` perception of bilingual use in EFL
classroom reveals that the students got many difficulties of the English use as the
medium of instruction in their classroom such as what teacher said was not
understandable, the student had more doubt to ask and interact. Meanwhile using
dominantly Indonesia made them understand the lesson and interact well but in
the other hand they wanted their English improved as well. Therefore, the use of
both their source language (Indonesian language) in learning target language
(English) should be balanced to complement their English also their
understanding of a lesson. And students` language preference in EFL classroom
interaction disclosed that the students prefered bilingual than Indonesian and
English. Bilingual is agreed as much 80%. Meanwhile, 70% the students agreed
Indonesian as a used language and only 52% students chose English.
