Abstract :
The respondents’ responses of the questionnaires were analyzed statistically
through data tabulating are putting into the table of frequency data distribution to
know how the percentage shows the tendency of the indicators both from the internal
and external factors in causing the students getting remedial at their English subject
test. The data from the interview was analyzed qualitatively by transcribing the
interview result. The data from the observation was showing the result of the
description related to the internal and external factors which may cause the students
in getting remedial. The data findings showed that all the indicators of both internal
and external factors did not cause the students in getting remedial at their English
subject test. All the indicators are included in the high category which means that the
respondents gave positive responses towards the indicators from the questionnaire
The data from the interviews and observation showed a relevant result.
As the implication, the factor which had a high tendency to cause the students
in getting remedial at their English test from the internal factor was the students’
motivation (22.2%), it was based on the lowest percentage on the low category of the
data distribution frequency from the questionnaire statistical analysis, while, the
factors from the external factor which had the highest tendency to cause the students
to get remedial were the school facilities and mass media which the percentage was
(8.3%).
