Abstract :
This research discussed about correlation between violation of cooperative principle and gender language features portrayed by characters in 'Love Rosie' film which aimed to find out types of maxims violation, identify the dominant one in violating maxims and describe gender language features that found in the way of characters did the maxims violation in 'Love, Rosie' film. This research focused on Grice's theory about cooperative principle violation and Lakoff s theories about gender language features. This research applied descriptive qualitative method in revealing the data. The research used note taking as instrument to get the valid data. The findings showed that all of maxims were violated in total forty-three data, which had a lot of manner maxim to be violated. The researcher also found that women became the dominant gender in violating maxims. The researcher concluded that gender language features could be found in characters' ways in maxims violation
