Abstract :
The research discovers that the speaking skill of the second grade students of Senior High School 3 Takalar enhanced by using Hot Potato Technique by the increase of mean score of experimental class that is 2.1 in the pre-test and 4.15 in the posttest. The result of the t-test also shown that using Hot Potato Technique in teaching speaking skills was effective in enhancing the students’ speaking skills especially students’ speaking fluency because the t-test, 3.91, was higher than t-table, 2.024 (3.91 > 2.024).
