Abstract :
This study aims to examine the effect of using gambier solution (Uncaria gambir roxb) on E.coli growth in broiler chickens. The design used in this study was a complete randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments of 3 replications. Treatment consists of P0A = Control of infection; P0B = E.coli infection + Gambier solution (Uncaria gambir Roxb) 0%, P1 = E.coli infection + Gambier solution (Uncaria gambir roxb) 2%, P2 = Infection E. coli + Gambier solution (Uncaria gambir roxb) 4% , P3 = E.coli infection + Gambier solution (Uncaria gambir roxb) 6%, P4 = Infection E.coli + Antibiotic tetracycline 0.05%. The results showed that by giving a solution gambir (Uncaria gambir roxb) can reduce the number of colonies of E. coli in broiler chickens. And give a significant influence (P <0.05%) on the growth of E.coli bacteria. It can be concluded that giving gambier solution (Uncaria gambir Roxb) with dosage level of 2% to 6% can inhibit the growth of E. coli colony on broiler chicken
