Abstract :
Altitude have different soil chemical and physical properties are different
as well. Chemical and physical properties of soil affect the amount of roots. This
research looks at the relationship between the amount percentage of Arabica
coffee roots Sigarar Utang with soil chemical and physical properties Inceptisol
Lintong Nihuta on different altitude. Calculation of the amount of
Sigarar Utang Arabica coffee roots were calculated using the distribution of root
observation by Bohm. Chemical properties of the soil were observed in this study
is pH H2O, C-organic, N-total, P-total, K-dd, and CEC, while the physical
properties of soil texture and bulk density.
The results showed that the percentage of Arabica coffee roots declines
with distance from the lateral and vertical tree from the ground. Altitude does not
significantly affect the number of roots. Chemical and physical properties that
significantly affect the percentage of the root is C-organic, N-total, K-dd, CEC,
and texture of the clay.
