Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of carbon stored
at the plant level down and to determine the effect of slope on a large or small
carbon stocks in undergrowth in the forest park (TAHURA) Bukit Barisan, Karo
District, Province of North Sumatera. The experiment was conducted in April
2015. The data collection was conducted by the path that the method purpose
sampling with random start. Plot size is 20m 20m as 6 plots with 3 plots in area
ramps and 3 plots in steep terrain. Data were collected by destructive methods.
The results showed that 14 species are found under the sloping area and 12
species of lower plants on steep terrain. Potential carbon found in the sloping
area that is equal to 93,09 kg/ha and the potential of the carbon contained in the
steep terrain that is equal to 83,84 kg/ha. The carbon in the sloping area is larger
than in the steep terrain.
