Abstract :
Transportation in the developing countries plays avery important role in rural semi-urban, and urban areas since it provides an access to meet the daily need for goods and services and to improve the socio-economic life. The access to information, market, education and health as weel as new opprtunities for everything are the important need in the process of development. The most frequent problem occurs in rural and urban areas is the lack of well-regulated transportation system resulting in different levels of rural and urban development
To look at the influence of transportation network on the development of rural areas in the vicinity of the town of Perbaungan was conducted by analyzing the transportation network system and the level of rural development Transportation system was studied using 3 (three) parameters, namely (1) parameter of accessibility. (2) the use of transportaion mode, and the analysis of the physical condition of research area. The level of rural development was studied using 4 (four) indicators, namely, (1) the indicator of rural development. (2) the indicator of income, (3) the indicator of education, and (4) the indicator of public health The quantitative data obtained were qualitatively analyzed. This study was conducted in Desa Cintaman Jernih, Kelurahan Melati 1 Kelurahan Batang Terap, and Desa Kota Galuh located in the vicinity of the capital of Perbaungan Subdistrict
The conclusion drawn from this study is the best rural development level is achieved by Kelurahan Batang Terap because its indicators of rural development income, education and public health are good enough. It has been proven that this Kelurahan has the best transportation network several alternative roads, but stop public transportation, and market. Therefore, transportation network has a clare relationship with rural development
