Abstract :
An experimental and theoretical iwestigation wos made to find out the effect of the
ffictiveness atid pressure drop oti the 1-2 pass shell and rube hem aichaiigar with
different bafrle distance for staggered tube arrdngement. A heat exchanger using
segmental bafrle wtth 23,85% baffle cut is tested with dffirent baffle distance which
are: 36 mm, 40 mm, 45 mm, 45 mm, 5l mm, 59 mm, and 7l mm. The experimental
results showed that a mmimum coeficient heat transfer with Nusselt number (Nu)
and minimum pressure drop with friction factor fi is found in 45 mm of bafrle
distance. It is alsofound tlat the empirical correlation between Nusselt number (Nu)-
