Abstract :
Basically that every company must have the human resources and become an
important asset to achieve the objectives of a company. Without a good human
resources of a company is not going to go well and human resources is one - the
only human resource that can not be imitated as having sense, feelings, desires,
abilities, skills, knowledge and work. Improved performance of employees will
bring progress for the company to be able to survive in a competitive business
environment that is not stable. Therefore, the efforts ? efforts to improve
employee performance management challenges PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I
(Persero) Medan to serious in fostering employee for success to achieve the goals
and the survival of the company depends on the quality of performance of existing
resources therein. This study attempts to examine some of the factors thought to
have an influence on employee performance, ie leadership style and work
discipline. This study was conducted in PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero)
Medan. There are 53 respondents who have been selected as sample using
sampling techniques such as simple random sampling. The data collection method
is by using a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques in this research is multiple
regression analysis. The study found that all of this hypothesis has been proven
significantly. Leadership style and work discipline and significant positive effect
on employee performance. The variable that has the most impact is the work
discipline. The implication of this research is the style of leadership and discipline
have an equally important role, both individually and together in improving
employee performance.
