Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine unemployment in the Medan City . This study uses secondary data obtained directly from Badan Pusat Stastik (BPS) and the department or agency concerned. The analysis used descriptive quantitative analysis of multiple linear models . Variables used is Unemployment, Labour Force, Economic Growth, Wage Rate and Human Development Index. In this study using Eviews 8.1 as an estimation tool. The regression showed that the Labour Force is significant positive effect on the Unemployment, Economic Growth is significantly positive effect on the Unemployment, Wage Rate is significantly negative effect on the Unemployment, and Human Development Index is not significantly positive effect on the Unemployment. Then the relationship between the Labour Force, Economic Growth, Wage Rate, Human Development Index with Unemployment of 57,2 % and 42,8 % is explained by other factors not mentioned in this model.
