Abstract :
This study aims to examine the factors contained in internet-based electronic money affecting consumer preferences and the number of transactions on the use of electronic money as economic transactions using Path Analysis with two-lane equation model. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of North Sumatra by using a survey method that provides questionnaires to 100 students who use internet-based electronic money as an economic transaction. This study uses SPSS software to test research data. The results of this study indicate that the ease variable, transaction speed and security have a positive but insignificant effect, trust variables and security costs have a positive and significant effect on the preferences of students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of North Sumatra in using internet-based electronic money. Security variables are the most influential variable on the number of transactions through consumer preferences in using internet-based electronic money.
