Abstract :
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by a virus that is transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. DHF is caused by the dengue virus which is carried by the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. Signs and symptoms of DHF are red spots, high fever up to 40?, weakness, nausea and vomiting, coughing, difficulty swallowing food, shortness of breath. DHF can cause nutritional deficits because children experience nausea, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing food. This study aims to describe children's cases in depth which emphasizes aspects of nursing care for pediatric clients who experience nutritional deficits with DHF. Qualitative descriptive research design with a case study approach using the participation of 2 children and their parents and the implementation time of 2 days in May and June 2021 at Pasar Rebo Hospital Jakarta. Interventions that will be carried out on pediatric clients who have nutritional deficits are by suggesting to eat little but often. Nursing diagnoses that become the main focus for both clients are: nutritional deficit related to inadequate nutritional intake. The independent nursing action that the author took to overcome nursing problems that became the main focus was by recommending eating little but often. All actions are carried out effectively and as planned. The result is that appetite begins to improve after independent actions are taken, suggest eating little but often for 2 days. Suggestions for the community to pay more attention to health behavior or daily habits because they are an important influence in the transmission and spread of DHF disease.
