Abstract :
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus, transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito characterized by hyperthermia. Hyperthermia is a state of increasing body temperature above the normal range of the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of nursing care for 2 clients and 2 families who have the same characteristics such as age, having hyperthermia nursing problems and medical diagnosis of DHF. Methods: This study used a qualitative descriptive research design, with a case study and intervention approach. The research location is in the Hestia room of the Meilia Cibubur Hospital in May 2021. The action to be taken on school-age children with hyperthermia is by using warm compresses with the tepid sponge technique where warm compresses are effective for reducing fever according to research (Dewi, 2016). Data were obtained from the patient's mother, nurses, health team, progress notes, and health records. Results: after nursing actions with warm compresses and collaboration were given antipyretics, body temperature returned to normal within normal limits, Conclusion: Treatment of hyperthermia carried out in children with DHF showed that the patient's hyperthermia could be resolved. The effect of fluid administration on decreasing thermoregulation was resolved, antipyretic administration and warm compresses were carried out and resulted in decreased body temperature. Suggestion: It is hoped that this warm compress can be applied in nursing care with hyperthermia nursing problems and can be carried out by the family independently at home. The results of the application of warm water compresses with a tepid sponge for 3x24 hours in a row in patients are expected to decrease body temperature and there is no lack of fluids due to dehydration caused by an increase in body temperature. Keywords: DHF, Hyperthermia, warm compress
