Abstract :
Hypertension is a condition in which a person experiences an increase in blood pressure above normal which can result in morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this study was to see the effectiveness of using deep breathing relaxation techniques in hypertension clients who experience moderate pain.(Aryantiningsih &Silaen, 2018). This research uses descriptive qualitative research with an intervention case study approach. Nursing care was carried out for 3 days to 2 clients diagnosed with hypertension with acute pain nursing problems who experienced headaches and dizziness. From the results of the study found 3 nursing diagnoses for each client, namely in the first client, the first diagnosis was Acute pain related to physiological injury agents (ischemia), the second diagnosis was activity intolerance related to weakness, and the third diagnosis was Knowledge deficit related to lack of exposure to information and at client 2 first diagnosis Acute pain related to physiological injury agent (ischemia), second diagnosis Sleep pattern disorder related to lack of sleep control and third diagnosis Knowledge deficit related to lack of exposure to information. In the first diagnosis in two clients, the intervention carried out was to perform deep breath relaxation techniques when pain appeared due to increased blood pressure. He occurrence of a reduction in pain scales in both clients with the same scale, namely 2. This concludes that deep breathing relaxation techniques have effectiveness in reducing pain in patients with hypertension. Keywords: Hypertension, Medical Surgical Nursing, Pain
