Abstract :
Gastroenteritis is a condition in which a person defecates with a soft or liquid consistency and the frequency is more than 3 times a day. The research conducted by the author aims to obtain an overview of nursing care for 2 client children and 2 families who have the same characteristics as toddler age, female gender, have the main problem of hypovolemia with a medical diagnosis of gastroenteritis. The design used was descriptive qualitative with a case study and intervention approach. After conducting a nursing assessment on client An. A found complaints of liquid bowel movements 5 times / day accompanied by nausea and vomiting and in client An. P found complaints of liquid defecation 3 times a day accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Found 3 diagnoses in both clients. The priority problem is the nursing diagnosis of hypovolemia. In both clients, the author took independent action by giving pure honey therapy with a frequency of 3 times / day with a dose of 5 cc for 3 days. Giving pure honey therapy is done with the help of the client's mother. At the evaluation stage, the three nursing diagnoses owned by the two clients have been carried out according to the planning and the final evaluation obtained is resolved according to the criteria of 3 x 24 hours. The administration of pure honey therapy that has been carried out by the author is effective in helping to reduce the frequency of bowel movements and repair damaged intestinal mucosa, stimulate the growth of new tissue and assist in replacing body fluids lost due to diarrhea. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, the authors give advice to nurses and both clients to further improve the independent action of pure honey therapy in helping to overcome hypovolemia in pediatric clients with gastroenteritis.
