Abstract :
Pulmonary tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pulmonary tuberculosis is the accumulation of secretions in the upper respiratory tract. This study uses a descriptive qualitative design with a case study approach which aims to obtain an overview of nursing care for 2 adult clients who have the same characteristics, such as having the main problem of ineffective airway clearance and medical diagnosis of pulmonary TB. After the nursing assessment, Ms. A and Mr. R experienced ineffective airway clearance since hospitalized. Found 3 diagnoses on Ms. A and Mr. R. In the diagnosis of ineffective airway clearance, the author takes independent actions, namely effective coughing exercises for 3x24 hours. In the last stage of diagnostic evaluation on Ms. A and Mr. R has not been resolved. Giving this effective coughing exercise affects the discharge of secretions in pulmonary TB patients. Ineffective airway clearance is the inability to clear secretions or airway obstruction to maintain a patent airway. The implementation time is 3 days in June-July 2022 at Pasar Rebo Hospital.
