Abstract :
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is an infectious disease that can be caused by the dengue virus, transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito characterized by hyperthermia. Hyperthermia is a state of increasing body temperature above the normal range of the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of nursing care for 2 clients and 2 families who have the same characteristics, such as age, have hyperthermia nursing problems and a medical diagnosis of dengue haemorrhagic fever. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research design with a case study and intervention approach. The research was conducted in the parakeet room of RSAU dr. Esenawa Antariksa in June 2022. Actions that will be carried out on school-aged children with hyperthermia, one of which is the warm compress technique where warm compresses are effective for reducing fever. Data were obtained from the client, the client's mother, the nurse, the health team, and the client's progress notes. After nursing actions, warm compresses and collaboration were given antipyretics, body temperature returned to normal limits. Handling of hyperthermia in children with dengue haemorrhagic fever showed that the client's hyperthermia was resolved, antipyretics and warm compresses were administered and the body temperature decreased. It is hoped that this warm water compress can be applied in nursing care with hyperthermia nursing problems can be applied and carried out by the family independently at home. The results of the application of the warm water compress technique for 3x24 hours in a row on the client is expected to decrease body temperature and hyperthermia nursing problems can be resolved.
