Abstract :
Inspection of the respiratory tract is the most common acute inflammation in children caused by infection with microorganisms or bacteria, viruses, or without or accompanied by inflammation of the lung parenchyma (Wong, 2013). The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of nursing care for 2 child clients and 2 family clients who had problems with ineffective airway clearance with ARI at dr. Space Esnawan. Qualitative descriptive research method with a case study approach and intervention. Interventions carried out with effective coughing techniques to help expel sputum so that it can facilitate the discharge of phlegm in children. Both clients were given an effective cough technique with a frequency of 3 times a day for 5 minutes. This effective coughing action is carried out with the help of the client's mother. At the evaluation stage owned by both clients, it was carried out according to the planner and the final evaluation obtained was resolved according to the 3x24 hour time criterion. The nurse teaches effective coughing techniques and observes the client's ability to cough effectively and clean the patient's airway. The author gives advice to nurses and parents of clients to further improve independent actions in providing effective cough techniques in helping to overcome Ineffective Airway Clearing in pediatric clients with ARI. The conclusion is that effective coughing techniques can facilitate the expulsion of phlegm for ARI clients. Key words: ARI, Clearing the airway, Cough effectively
