Abstract :
Bronchopneumonia is a type of lung infection caused by infectious agents and is found in the bronchial area and around the alveoli. inflammation of the lungs caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi and foreign objects, which results in increased secretions and is characterized by symptoms of fever, cough with phlegm, shortness of breath, and additional rhonchi. The research conducted by the author aims to obtain an overview of nursing care for 2 client children and 2 families who have the same characteristics as male sex, toddler age, have the main problem of Ineffective Airway Clearing with a medical diagnosis of Bronchopneumonia. The design used was descriptive qualitative with a case study and intervention approach. After conducting a nursing assessment, An. F and An. R found complaints of cough, runny nose accompanied by phlegm that is difficult to remove. Found 3 diagnoses in both clients. In the priority problem, namely the nursing diagnosis of ineffective airway clearance for both clients, the author took independent action by giving clapping therapy with a frequency of 3 times a day for 5 minutes. Giving clapping therapy is done with the help of the client's mother. At the evaluation stage of the three nursing diagnoses owned by the two clients, it was carried out according to the planning and the final evaluation obtained was resolved according to the criteria of 3 x 24 hours. Giving clapping therapy that has been done by the author turned out to be effective in helping to overcome the problem of Ineffective Airway Clearing with the result that the client was able to remove the secretions that were stuck in the bronchial walls easily. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, the authors provide advice to nurses and parents of clients to further improve independent actions in providing clapping therapy in helping to overcome Ineffective Airway Clearing in pediatric clients with Bronchopneumonia.
