Abstract :
This study aims to obtain empirical evidence about the influence of R&D intensity and profitability affect the corporate social responsibility (CSR) in companies listed in LQ45 index on Indonesia Stock Exchange. With purposive sampling method, the populations of this research are 8 companies listed in LQ45 index from 2008 until 2011. Based on the results of testing performed with T-test variable R&D intensity and return on asset are influential variables significantly to corporate social responsibility (CSR). Whereas on the basis of simultaneous test (test F) R&D intensity and profitability have an impact on corporate social responsibility (CSR). The magnitude (R2) on 8 companies in LQ45 is 0.565619. This shows that the great influence of the independent variable i.e. R&D intensity and profitability of the dependent variable corporate social responsibility (CSR) that can be explained by the model equation is equal to 56,56% of 43,44% and the rest are influenced by other factors outside research
