Abstract :
Banking developments in Indonesia are continues to increase their asset and network, especially in the last four years. The goals are to see and analyze how efficient of banking in Indonesia. If the banks have been growing, are there efficient in their operation?
This research measured the efficiency of conventional and islamic banks in Indonesia as intermediary institution and efficiency in producing their product. This research used Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method with CCR models(Charnes-Cooper-Rhodes) that assumed constant return to scale (CRS) with output maximizing.
The results is conventional banks are more efficient than islamic banks in intermediary and production approach. This research also give the potential improvement for inefficient bank. Conventional and islamic banks in Indonesia should improve their efficiency in order to get more good performance.
