Skripsi, English Education Department, Faculty of Language and Arts Education, IKIP PGRI BOJONEGORO, Advisor (I) Dr. Refi Ranto Rozak, M.Pd., (II) Oktha Ika Rahmawati, M.Pd. Keywords : Translation techniques, novel, descriptive Translation is a technique used to change a work from the source language to the target language so that connoisseurs of the work can easily understand it. This final project is a study that analyzes the translation techniques used in translating the novel "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" by Mitch Album and translated into the Indonesian version by Andang H. Sutopo with the title Meniti Bianglala. The translation technique introduced by Molina and Albir (2002) is the theory that I use in this research. This research is classified as descriptive research. This is a study where I need to collect and analyze data to come to a conclusion. Data were obtained by reading novels, comparing novels, identifying, classifying, calculating, and concluding. The results of the research show that there are 12 techniques found in the data. Conclusion for the translator: it is important to explore various translation techniques to clarify the translated text and try to provide explanations such as footnotes in the novel so that the reader understands the text. Second, for future researchers: Future research can provide knowledge that may be useful to readers and can become other relevant research for consideration.
