Abstract :
Facility and storage layout is very important to all companies, especially for company who is involve in the manufacturing industry like Moza Atmos Indonesia. Redesigning facility and storage layout at PT. Moza Atmos Indonesia is one of many factors which determine the organization in production activity. The production activity will affect the product quality. Facility and storage layout at PT. Moza Atmos Indonesia is not yet organized, because there are lots of aspects neglected by the company related to the design facility and storage layout of PT. Moza Atmos Indonesia. The objective of this study is to identify the causes that makes facility and storage layout in Moza Atmos Indonesia?s production room unorganized and to find a solution to address the problems that PT. Moza Atmos Indonesia have. PT. Moza Atmos Indonesia works along the line of architecture, interior consultancy, furniture manufacturing and wood processing. Moza company is established on deep understanding that our current and potential clients in diverse market require high-performance. This study used qualitative technique. Layout & inventories theory and value chain analysis are being used as tools to analyze the cause of unorganized facility and storage layout. Moreover, an interview with company's management also helps to identify the cause of this problem. From the analysis and discussion, Author concluded that there are some factors that may cause the disorganized facility layout such as only have one door for both entrance and exit, safety tools, and haven?t warehouse also limited place in production room. The main problems in PT. Moza Atmos Indonesia are the lack of best layouts, lack of supporting factors, and unorganized placement of inventories. In the end of this study, there are some recommendations for company to prevent the unorganized facility and storage layout problem and improve its management. PT. Moza Atmos Indonesia needs to redesign their facility and storage layout, and implement with some factors to keep inventories safe and facilitate production activity at PT. Moza Atmos Indonesia.
