Abstract :
Advances in technology are increasingly helping micro and small business adopt e-commerce to improve their performance. This study aims to analyze empirically the efficacy of MSEs in adopting e-commerce and its impact on their business performance but also the scarcity of studies on technology literacy, business competition and also government support in the west Java region. This study combines the theories of technology readiness planning, business competition, and government support to examine the factors influencing e-commerce adoption. The online survey was conducted in the west Java region, and data from 180 respondents were analyzed using partial least square-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal several statistically significant relationships : technology readiness has a significant impact on e-commerce adoption intentions, Business competition significantly influences e-commerce adoption, Government support plays an important role in e-commerce adoption, and E-commerce adoption has a significant positive effect on business performance. This empirical support enables business to strategically leverage these factors to drive e-commerce adoption, increasing their competitiveness. Future researchers can further explore these variables. With many controllable stimuli influencing e-commerce interest, businesses can leverage these insights to improve their business performance through e-commerce adoption. This study contributes to the existing e-commerce literature and offers valuable insights for industry players and business owners.
