Abstract :
Global warming is a phenomenon of solar heat wave radiation trapping caused by high concentrations of greenhouse gases emitted by the earth, these gases are CO2, CH4, dan N2O. The energy industry is the largest contributor to emissions, around 43.83% of total emissions. The purpose of this study is to calculate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and analyze fuel consumption scenarios at PT X, which is soon to be the largest refinery in Indonesia. The emission calculation method used in this study is the tier 3 method base on the Minister of Environment Regulation number 12 year of 2012 to calculate secondary data obtained from PT X. This study will determine the scenario with the lowest GHG produced and the biggest cost reduction. Scenario 1 uses fuel oil and refinery gas, scenario 2 uses natural gas and refinery gas, and scenario 3 uses refinery gas. The results showed that the GHG emissions produced by PT X in actual were 1,780,005.62 tons CO2e/ year. Scenario 3 is the best scenario due to the use of fuel with the highest purity of hydrocarbons and the cheapest fuel price. Scenario 3 reduces GHG emissions by 248,248.67 tons of CO2e per year or 13.9% and reduces the fuel cost by Rp. 2,621,592,255,883 per year or 58.6% compared to actual condition.
