Abstract :
An airfoil is a wide-profiled structure applied in various fields such as aircraft wings, wind turbines, jet engine compressor blades, propeller blades, hydrofoils, vertical stabilizers of aircraft, submarine fins, and rotaries. The shape of an airfoil can be either symmetric or asymmetric, as exemplified by the NACA 4412 airfoil from the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA). This study aims to evaluate the maximum stress, deformation, and elastic shear strain values. The method employed in this research is Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulation. The analysis reveals that the highest stress is recorded in the carbon fiber composite honeycomb airfoil type, reaching 30,703 MPa. Meanwhile, the maximum strain occurs in the carbon fiber composite honeycomb airfoil at 28.88 mm/mm, with the smallest deflection observed in the carbon fiber epoxy composite, measuring 3.8106 mm.
