Abstract :
Terkenal murah dan terjamin keasliannya, Kabupaten Magetan memiliki potensi kerajinan kulit dengan adanya industri penyamakan kulit berupa Lingkungan Industri Kecil (LIK) dan Sentra Kerajinan Kulit Jalan Sawo. Produk-produk kerajinan kulit yang dihasilkan dan dipasarkan yaitu alas kaki, tas, dompet, dll. Akan tetapi, terjadi kesenjangan anatara nilai produk alas kaki dengan tas dan dompet. Padahal, tas kulit merupakan produk yang paling digemari oleh wanita. Tas kulit Magetan sendiri dinilai belum memiliki orisinalitas pada desain dan merek, belum terdapat diversifikasi desain yang sesuai dengan preferensi pengguna, serta belum memiliki ciri khas yang memperlihatkan identitas Kabupaten Magetan. Observasi, dept interview, serta penyebaran kuesioner kemudian dilakukan dalam proses pengumpulan data untuk merancang produk tas kulit yang merepresentasikan preferensi pengguna dan berciri khas Magetan. Berdasarkan studi dan analisis yang dilakukan, disimpulkan bahwa upaya dalam mewujudkan ciri khas daerah pada tas kulit yang secara visual dapat dikenali adalah dengan mengaplikasikan motif khas Kabupaten Magetan. Penelitian menghasilkan empat motif Pring khas Kabupaten Magetan dan tiga desain tas kulit wanita yang diberi nama Smerta, Srayu, dan Srawani. Masing-masing tas kulit mengimplementasikan motif Pring yang dihasilkan sebagai aksen menggunakan teknik grafir laser. =============================================================================================================================== Known for its low price and guaranteed authenticity, Magetan Regency has the potential for leather crafts with the existence of a leather tanning industry in the form of a Small Industrial Environment (LIK) and a Leather Craft Center on Jalan Sawo. Leather craft products that are produced and marketed are footwear, bags, wallets, etc. However, there is a gap between the value of footwear products with bags and wallets. In fact, leather bags are the product most favored by women. The Magetan leather bag itself is considered not to have originality in design and branding, there is no diversification of designs that suit user preferences, and do not yet have characteristics that show the identity of Magetan Regency. Observations, dept interviews, and distributing questionnaires were then carried out in the data collection process to design a leather bag product that represents user preferences and has Magetan characteristics. Based on the studies and analysis conducted, it was concluded that the effort to realize regional characteristics on leather bags that are visually recognizable is to apply the typical motifs of Magetan Regency. The research resulted in four Pring motifs typical of Magetan Regency and three designs of women's leather bags named Smerta, Srayu, and Srawani. Each leather bag implements the Pring motif as an accent using a laser engraved technique.
