Abstract :
Pamekasan Regency is an area with a highly admired culture in Madura. The Ghetak Mask
Dance in Pamekasan itself is less known among children; one of the factors for this unrecognition
is the lack of early introduction. This study aims to design the Ghetak mask dance as an effective
means to introduce history and culture to elementary school children in Pamekasan. The research
method used is qualitative with an approach of observation, interviews, and literature study. The
analysis is conducted using the SWOT method (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) to
identify the advantages, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in implementing the Ghetak mask
dance as a learning medium. Media strategies include the use of semi-realistic illustrated books
accompanied by text, as well as other supporting media such as posters, coloring books, pencil
cases, keychains, and mask replicas. The research results show that the Ghetak mask dance has
great potential as an attractive and effective learning medium for children, with movements and
stories that are easy to understand. Semi-realistic illustrated books have proven effective in
attracting children's attention and facilitating their understanding of historical and cultural
material. This research is expected to serve as a reference for further development in the field of
education and the preservation of traditional culture.
