Abstract :
DVB-S is a functioning system to transmit digital broadcasts from satellite and received by a device named digital satellite receiver. Along with the increasing development of technology, the system with the DVB-S broadcasting is becoming obsolete and change over using the standard DVB-S systems called DVB-S2. With the latest technology, the DVB-S2 receiver is capable to display broadcast with MPEG-4 format and capture more broadcast than the predecessor system. Since using satellite as a repeater, the transmiter and receiver use a parabolic antenna types. The basic material used in a dish are made from zinc drums or commonly called as wajan bolic. In its design, using a wok with a diameter of ± 120 cm and depth of 17 cm. In simple flow, signal reception in wajan bolic antenna that are sent through the satellite signal received by antenna, then reflected by the reflector towards LNB to be transmitted on receiver device. The larger reflector used, the greater coverage antenna get broadcast from a satellite, it is caused by reflected signals that lead to the antenna reflected with maximum towards LNB used. Based on the experiments conducted, antenna wajan bolic successfully used to support DVB-S2 system applications to capture signals from satellites and display it in digital broadcasting form. In practice, the value of C/N is taken as a reference for broadcast quality shown. The highest value of C/N generated by MORE 1 and BERITA SATU channel, with each value of C/N equal to 7 dB. Accordingly it can be stated that the greater value of C/N, the better quality of broadcasts produced.
