Abstract :
The development of advanced technology makes digitizing impact on various fields, even automated system that brings the world to the modern era. Computers have become an important part of human life and almost all fields. These days, digital systems, computer-based learning is often encountered in daily life - the day, as well as in the form of a virtual music education in order to facilitate learning and save costs by utilizing current technology development. In today's digital era has been known in the form of a virtual mausic studio called Digital Audio Workstation. MIDI Controller is a musical instrument control devices that contained in the Digital Audio Workstation. Physically, the form of MIDI Controller is designed as closely as possible to the shape of the original instrument. MIDI is the name of the data communication protocol used to send and receive data from all types of MIDI Controller to Computer to exercise control over musical instruments in Digital Audio Workstation. Given the background of the MIDI Controller in general, this final project research is done to create a type of MIDI Controller aimed to control panels on a Virtual DJ application software, and have a high level of customization to users. The final project with the title "Arduino based MIDI DJ Controller" discusses the making of a type of MIDI Controller in the form of DJ Controller with Arduino as a processing command from the user and sends it to the Virtual DJ application on the computer using the MIDI protocol in asynchronous serial communications. With Push Button, Rotary Encoder, Potentiometer, and DC Motor as sensor along multiplexer and op-amp that controlled by arduino also with MIDI protocol bring trough the device works as Controller for the musical instrument in digital audio workstation.
