Abstract :
The rapid technological developments resulted in an
increase in the amount of traffic in real-time services and nonreal time . Real time services such as voice and video conferencing is a service that is sensitive to delay and jitter , whereas non- real time services such as FTP is a service that is not sensitive to delay and jitter . So as to bring that requires the traffic that has capabilities such as low delay , high speed . ATM
is a switching technology with the capability and has the Quality Of Service ( QOS ) for each service that is suitable for carrying traffic in real-time services and non- real time . However, to support QoS guarantees requires the queuing theory in order packets sent for each service can be delivered efficiently . Some queuing theory which can be used are Round Robin ( RR ) , Weighted Round Robin ( WRR ) and Priority Queueing ( PQ ) .In this study conducted a simulation using OPNET Modeler 14.5 to observe some QOS parameters such as cell delay , cell delay variation and cell loss ratio in each of the services used such as voice , video conference and FTP with different types of queuing theory . Based on the results obtained , queuing theory PQ has the smallest value for the parameter cell delay and cell delay
variation in voice services and videoconferencing . In the cell loss ratio parameter queuing theory PQ has the smallest value for videoconferencing services for voice services while queuing theory RR that has the smallest value . RR queuing theory has the smallest value in the FTP service for the parameter cell delay , cell delay variation and cell loss ratio .
