Abstract :
The development of telecommunications technology starts from the use of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology to satellite technology that allows users to communicate anywhere and at any time. In broadband networks also experienced many changes from time to time in order to maintain quality of service on the customer's mobile operators. One is the Universal Mobile Telecommunications Service ( UMTS ) is a third generation (3G) mobile telecommunications technologies. UMTS services provide a variety of applications such as email, web browsing, video conferencing, and voice. To provide efficiency in the delivery of data, required a traffic management, one of which uses several different queuing theory. In this research will be carried out observations of the UMTS service parameters using several different queuing theory, namely FIFO, Priority Queuing, and Wighted Fair Queuing. Simulations performed using the software OPNET Modeler 14.5. From the simulation results can be seen for WFQ queuing theory produces an average of the smallest delay in video conferencing services in the amount of 220.045 ms. As for the delay variation is the smallest in the Video Conference are on FIFO queuing theory that is equal to 0.0455 ms. As for VoIP services, delay and delay variation, the smallest found on FIFO queuing theory in the amount of 228.336 ms and 147.871 ms. And for the smallest packet loss contained in the FIFO queue theory of 2.04028 % . So the views of delay, delay variation, and packet loss that has been generated, then the FIFO queuing theory which is very suitable for use in a UMTS network.
