ABSTRACT
Fiber To The Home is a format that transmit a signal from provider
directly to the users. Fiber To The Home is a successful business by providing a
minimum Capital Expenditure (CAPEX). Fiber To The Home (FTTH) can be
implemented with Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network (GPON) that can
distributes the optical signal using passive devices. Royal Wood Cluster in the
Grand Cibubur Country Residence that is currently under construction is a
modern area that would desperately need high speed network access. FTTH
GPON access network design is the right solution to meet those need.
FTTH GPON design is conducted with the study literature and topologi
design. The final purpose to be achieved in this design is comparison of FTTH
GPON with passive splitter 1:8 and 1:16 contained on the ODP through
calculation of link power budget, rise time budget and techno economy.
Based on research result obtained Loss (PT) downstream GPON 1:8 is
21,26 dB and GPON 1:16 is 21,32 dB. Then the calculation of CAPEX obatained
for FTTH GPON 1:8 Rp 471.094.058,- and for GPON 1:16 Rp 403.681.571,-.
Based on this data the performance of downstream GPON 1:8 is better than
GPON 1:16 and GPON 1:16 more cost effective of CAPEX than GPON 1:8.
