Abstract :
To support the microwave transmission network, with a capacity that is not great,
service providers require a backhaul that is not only reliable but also being met in terms
of capacity, transmission and implementation so that the network can quickly be felt
wherever. In this research will distinguish the technologies that will be used on the
backhaul microwave transmission technology in 802 .11n Wi-fi and Wimax 802.16 revisi
d in order to compare the work process both technological terseebut.
In this thesis are done designing microwave networks using Wi-Fi 802 .11n 5 GHz
frequency and frequency 2.5 Ghz WiMax in the same hoplink. Microwave network
planning done in the area of East Jakarta at Kranji site with site Pondok Kelapa.
Additionally the design of microwave network will use the Pathloss software 5.0.
The result of the RSL design using Wi-Fi 802 .11n IE amounted to 50.35-dBm,
Fading Margin amounted to 32.65 EIRP of 53.30 dB, dB, it also generates the value of
availability of 99.99996%. When you use the WiMax value generated is of RSL-56.52
dBm, Fading Margin amounted to 26.48 dB, EIRP of 47.20 dB and resulting availability
value of 99.99992%. From the results of a comparison of the performance of the use of
Wi-Fi 802.11 n produces a value that is greater than availability on the use of WiMax. So
the use of Wi-Fi 802 .11n on network system of transmitting microwaves produce quality
service that is better than the use of WiMax.
