ABSTRACT
The progress of internet technology (IP-based services) which are very
rapidly, making the need for large bandwidth and high bit rate increases. until
recently the network access to customers is still dominated by a network of
copper wires (copper), which has a shortage of capacity in the form of low
bandwidth. This encourages the development of fiber optic-based network to
the homes of customers (Fiber To The Home), such as the residential area of
Jakarta Garden City. Design of a network of Fiber To The Home (FTTH) based
Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) standard ITU-T network design
process by using Google Earth and then counting OptiSystem link power
budget and rise time budget, and performance measurement based on electrical
signals and spectra of optical spectrum. PT. Telkom provides Fiber To The
Home (FTTH) technology uses a Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON),
GPON is a technology with a speed of downlink 2.488 Gbps and uplink 1.244
Gbps. Calculation of link budget i.e. 22 dBm, ITU-T standard for a maximum of
28 dBm. To a margin of power must be more than zero, its margin to 3 dBm.
Downstream results calculation budget links i.e. 0.27 ns, ITU-T standard for
maximum bit rate using 2.488 Gbps that is 0.291 ns. Upstream calculation
result rise time budget i.e. 0.25 ns, ITU-T standard for maximum use of 1.244
Gbps bit rate i.e 0.583 ns. Eye-Diagram showing the distortion, jitter, Signal
Noise Ratio (SNR), Max. Q Factor and Min. BER. Using power 5 dBm, power
used because Telkom Access. The value of the distortion 2 amplitude (a. u.), a
value jitter 0.0208 ns, SNR is said to be good if the picture his eyes getting
wide, value Max. Q Factor 24.169 and value Min. BER 1.150 × 10-100. RF
Spectrum Analyzer and Optical Spectrum Analyzer uses the power 5 dBm,
power used because Telkom Access. namely optical siyal charts before going
ONT i.e. registration-19.94 dBm, for optical signal last changed become
electric, the value in the can of 66.44 dBm.
