Abstract :
ABSTRACT Satellite communication systems are commonly used in areas far or far from the city as a medium of communication media, by using a satellite communication system that provides communication for areas that have not been met, at the time of VSAT installation while directing pointing, when pointing in the direction that points to directing the VSAT towards the intended satellite temporarily, after the pointing phase, the next step is cross polarization in which the stage is made for accurate directions to the satellite's position so that it does not penetrate the link on another transponder. When taking data directly in the field on the Palapa D satellite service, the cross polarization result is 32.93 dB, the number obtained by the Palapa D satellite meets ITU-R Rec S.731 standard, which is a minimum cross polarization result of 30 dB, whereas Chinasat satellite service obtained a result of 28.33 dB, on the Chinasat satellite service the results of cross polarization did not meet the cross pattern zrization standardization, then re-pointing was done so that the direction of the satellite yag was targeted in accordance with the location of the satellite position, then cross polarization was carried out again. In the calculation of the link budget, the total C / N results from the Palapa D satellite service are 14.07 dB, while for chinasat satellite services the C / N results are 16.05 dB. On activities in the field that if we do cross polarization simultaneously at different places then it is not an interruption in the link because each satellite has a different coordinate, and satellite guarded by box keeping that serves to restrict the shift of the satellite, tolerance shift of the satellite at 0, 05 °.
