Abstract :
ABSTRACT Indonesia is a country with an area of 1,910,931.32 km2 consisting of land and sea from the total area of Indonesia in 2013 had a land area of 8,1212,103 Ha according to the Center for Data and Agricultural Information Systems. This is one of the supporting aspects for increasing Indonesia's agricultural commodities if the land is managed properly. One of the appropriate technologies applied in agriculture is the Internet Of Things technology, which can be used to control and monitor the automatic paddy irrigation system because the traditional rice field irrigation system is less effective and the plants are prone to rot. For the use of the Internet of Things technology can use the publish / subscribe type MQTT protocol. besides requiring network protocols, it also requires supporting devices such as Sensor Soil Moisture which is used to read soil moisture, servo is used to open dam portals. The microcontroller used in this study is NodeMcu which has an esp8266 module that supports wireless network formation. In this study a prototype of a paddy irrigation system was created where the dam portal will open and close automatically the value of the soil in dry or wet rice fields and display a graph of soil moisture data on the website. The test results from the automatic paddy irrigation system obtained an average delay value of 166.37 milliseconds (good), 399 bits / s (medium) throughput, 0% packet loss (very good), 0,00011 s jitter (very good). the quality of the network is based on the parameters of Tiphon.
