Abstract :
Telecommunications is very important in today's digital era, especially to facilitate work and fulfill human needs. But cellular network infrastructure has not been evenly distributed throughout Indonesia. Areas such as mountains are still difficult to get cellular networks so security officers find it difficult to communicate through cellular networks. An alternative that can be used to communicate is using radio communication. The use of Handy Talky communication tools that support the use of radio communication will facilitate communication between security officers. In this research, an optimization process is carried out on the Hutsler G6 antenna in order to increase the transmit distance to reach long distances of communication. With silver plating on the loading coil can produce a greater transmission distance. The parameter results obtained on the copper loading coil Hustler G6 antenna are VSWR 1.1, impedance 43 43, 4.2 MHz bandwidth, and gain 6.15 dB, while the silver loading coil Hustler G6 antenna obtained the VSWR 1.2 parameter, impedance of 40 Ω, 4.2 Mhz bandwidth, and 7.15 dB gain. Then in terms of testing the antenna Hustler G6 with a silver loading coil has a transmission power coverage that is further away which is 3 km when compared to the copper loading coil which only reaches 1.9 km. This proves that changes in loading coil with materials that have higher conductivity can increase antenna efficiency. Keywords: Transmission distance, G6 Hustler antenna, loading coil, MMANAGAL.
