Abstract :
There is a nonlinear effect on the Danse wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) system which will affect the state of the network itself. Nonlinear effects themselves consist of several types, one of which is the nonlinear effect of Stimulated Raman Scatering (SRS). This study aims to obtain an analysis of the performance of DWDM systems in the presence of SRS nonlinear effects, by analyzing the effect of power variations, channel spacing, and bitrate. This research was conducted on DWDM systems with the presence of nonlinear SRS effects. DWDM design uses 8 channels, 50, 100 and 200 GHz channel spacing, and 40 Gbps, and 10 Gbps bitrate. Link length is 100 km with Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) Erbium amplifier. By using power variations of -6, -4, -2, 0, 2, 4 and 6 dBm. In this study the parameters to be analyzed are Q-Factor and BER. System performance results on BER parameters have the best value of 1.78 x 10-151 at 6 dBm CW Laser power with 40 Gbps bitrate and 200 GHz channel space, while the worst BER occurs when the BER value does not appear which occurs in the use of 40 Gbps bitrate in 50 GHz channel spacing. The QFactor parameter has the best value of 48.57 at 6 dBm CW Laser power with 200 GHz channel space and 10 Gbps bitrate, while for the worst value occurs when using 50 GHz channel space with a 40 Gbps bitrate. The performance of the DWDM system generated can be affected by changes in the input power of CW Laser, channel spacing, and bitrate to reduce the occurrence of nonlinear effects on the system can be increased power, channel spacing and bitrate resulting in an increase and decrease in BER and Q-Factor values Keywords: DWDM, BER, EDFA, Q-Factor.
