Abstract :
The growing need for location information from an object with high
accuracy makes the wireless network technology that is used today to develop
rapidly. The technology to determining the position that is currently intensively is
the Global Positioning System (GPS). Therefore, technology to determining the
position in the room began to be developed with the concept of indoor localization.
The indoor localization system is a technology that is used to determining the
position of objects in a building or closed space by utilizing the WSN (Wireless
Sensor Network). The purpose of this study is to determining the position of the
lecturer or the unknown node in the lecturer room of the FTT IT Telkom Purwokerto
and to know the accuracy of the system being tested. The process of positioning is
based on the received signal strength (RSSI) on the unknown node by using the
ZigBee module. ZigBee is used because when compared with other technologies,
ZigBee has advantages on the distance range, power consumption, and maximum
number of nodes. The trilateration method is used to calculate the estimated
position of the unknown node at the observation location based on the signal
strength received during the test. Testing is done through several scenarios that
have been determined. From the test results obtained path loss coefficient value (n)
at the observation location is 0.9836, while the level of positioning accuracy of
indoor localization system is 1,251 meters.
