Abstract :
The development of various technologies makes the need for public access
services rapidly increase rapidly.Starting from the transmission of information
quickly and better signal quality is something that must be met in its development.
By using optical fiber can provide better services to the community such as greater
bandwidth so that greater capacity and faster service.Optical fiber is commonly
applied to Fiber To The Home networks that access directly to home users. This
FTTH network will be implemented in the Samara Residence housing using GPON
technology. This final project design the FTTH network from the central STO to the
customer's ONT and simulate it to analyze the performance seen based on the
calculation of the power link budget, BER and Q Factor. Based on the power link
budget, all ONTs meet ITU-T G.984 standards, both manual and simulation. Based
on manual calculations, the value is -19.0778 dBm and the simulation is -22.312
dBm.The design performance results for BER and Q Factor in the simulation
obtained results of 7.17296 x 10-89 and 19.9515, both of which have met the
minimum BER and Q Factor standards at ITU-T which is 10-9 for BER and 6 for
Q Factor.
